Keepers

What is a keeper?
A keeper is any player that is either drafted or picked up off the waiver wire that you intend on keeping for the following season.

How do I keep a player?
You must declare your keepers by August 1st. You may keep a player by forfeiting a draft pick equal to two spots higher than the player being kept was drafted for the prior season.

What if I want to keep someone who was never drafted?
Only one of your keepers may be a player that went undrafted. An undrafted keeper costs a 7th round pick in the following year's draft.

Can I keep a player drafted by another team, dropped, and I picked up during the season?
Yes, yes you can. Same keeper rules apply in this case. If he was drafted it will cost a draft pick two higher than he was drafted for. If he was not drafted then it will be a 7th round pick.

Is there a limit to the number of players I can keep?
Yes. You may keep up to 4 players only one of which can be a player who went undrafted.

Trades

Is there a limit to the number of trades i can make in a season?
No, there is no limit.

Can I trade future draft picks?
You may trade up to two future draft picks per year as long as you and the team you are trading with both maintain the 16 picks needed to fill a roster on draft day. You may only trade draft picks for the following year's draft and not any subsequent drafts.

Can I trade for conditional draft picks
Yes, but the terms need to be part of the trade proposal in order to be voted on by the league.

What if a trade is unfair?
If a trade is unfair it is up to the league to veto the trade. To veto a trade there will be a league vote. If 2/3 of the league votes against the trade then it is vetoed. Once a trade is vetoed the trade is voided and all players and draft picks return to their original teams. After a trade is vetoed the players may change the trade and re-propose it, but the league will still vote on it.

How long will a trade take to be voted on?
Once a trade is proposed and accepted there is a two day window for other teams to vote against the trade if they feel it is unfair.

IR Spot

What is the IR spot?
This is a roster spot where you may place a player once they are placed on the IR list by their NFL team. This allows you to replace that injured player with someone else on your active roster, while still holding on to the injured players rights for keeper purposes.

Who is Boomer Grigsby and why is he on my roster?
When rosters are uploaded to Yahoo! all 17 roster spots must be filled. For our league it's 16 active roster spots and 1 IR spot, but Yahoo! treats it like 17 spots. Thus Dan places some bum like Boomer Grigsby on your roster to fill that spot.

Playoffs

How many teams make the playoffs?
6 with the top two of the regular season receiving first round byes.

What weeks do they playoffs take place?
Weeks 14-16

Do the playoffs reseed each round?
Yes they do. Yahoo does not automatically do this so we need to self administer this rule.

Money

What is the league entry fee?
$50. ($45 goes into the pot and $5 goes to the website upkeep and commissioner duties.)

Do transactions cost me anything?
Transactions cost $1 per pickup. Trades are free. The $1 per transaction goes into the pot.

How do I win money?
Pay outs are as follows:
50% of overall pot to Superbowl Champ
30% of overall pot to Superbowl loser
20% of overall pot to 3rd place

What happens if I don't pay transaction fees?
Players will have one month after Dan sends an email saying what people owe in transaction fees to pay them. If a team fails to pay within that time frame they will be assessed a $10 late charge ($5 to the pot and $5 to the comish). if a team fails to pay within 2 months from the initial email they are subjected to a $20 late fee and possible removal from the league.

What happens if i don't pay my entry fee?
Players must pay their entry fee by draft day. If they are not paid by that date then they will not be allowed to draft.
